A candidate performing guitar solo

Taking place on November 21 and 22, the Piano - Guitar Festival attracted the participation of 160 contestants from 20 music centers and children's cultural houses in the Central and Central Highlands provinces.

Candidates competed in piano solo, guitar solo; guitar concert in the form of duets, trio, quartet, or band concert. Each contestant performed 2 works of different musical property, belonging to such genres as classic, jazz, pop, etc.

Candidates participated in the solo piano or guitar competition in 3 tables divided by age group: from 8 to 13 years old, from 14 to 17 years old and 18 years old and above. The guitar concert content is divided into two tables: amateur contestants and students from Hue Academy of Music.

Dr. Ha Mai Huong, Director of Hue Academy of Music, said: “Piano - Guitar Festival is an artistic activity to create a playground, opportunities to exchange, learn and foster musical knowledge for young people who love music. More importantly, they were able to show their passion and love for music in general and piano and guitar in particular. Through this festival, Hue Academy of Music wishes to create passion and excitement in approaching the piano and guitar, creating opportunities for all subjects to participate in learning and training from short-term to long-term courses at the academy”.

The Organizing Committee will award first, second, and third prizes to the outstanding contestants. In addition, the contest also has a prize for the most popular candidate, the contestant with an impressive performance style, the band with an impressive performance style. The winners will be considered and admitted directly to Hue Academy of Music according to the aspirations of the majors.

Night performance and awards will take place on the evening of November 22.
