Attending the ceremony were Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho and Mr. Nakagawa Tetsuyuki, General Director of AeonMall.
Addressing the ceremony, Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho highly appreciated the investment research proposal for AeonMall Shopping Center in Hue, at the same time he affirmed that as this is the key project, the province will focus on carrying out efforts and support to set to work in 2021.
Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho committed to making the maximum support for AeonMall in providing information on shopping center investment and business in the provincial area as well as the information on the work of surveying and researching projects and other procedures after receiving the investment license. As for AeonMall, the province desires to cooperate with the company in forming a shopping center associated with the development of the raw material area, supporting local producers, and contributing to improving the quality of the flagship products of the province.
At the online signing ceremony, the General Director of AeonMall Nakagawa, Mr. Tetsuyuki said that Thua Thien Hue is the first place that AEON Group has carried out their social activities in Vietnam, with the project of constructing 30 schools and planting 34 hectares of forest in Lang Co in the period of 2010 – 2012. AeonMall Vietnam wishes to continue the cooperation with the Provincial People’s Committee the do the research on investing the regional shopping center in the province.
According to the main content of the memorandum, the Provincial People’s Committee will support AeonMall in researching and preparing documents to plan the new project of AeonMall shopping center in the area according to the current regulations; the total investment capital is expected to be about 150 – 160 million USD.
Being established in 2013, AeonMall is currently operating 6 shopping centers that are well running in Ho Chi minh City, Ha Noi, Binh Duong, and Hai Phong.
