Right after the launching ceremony, over 1.500 athletes coming from 25 units in the provincial area attended the marathon with a distance of 1.4km around Ky Dai - Ngo Mon square
After the marathon, over 150 athletes from 9 districts, towns, city, and schools, together with hundreds of free athletes entered the 29th Provincial Traditional Cross-Country with the theme: “Experiencing Huong River”.
According to the route, male and female runners competing in the distance of 4.2km started from Nghinh Luong Dinh, then ran through Phu Xuan Bridge – Le Loi St., – the walking path along the Huong River (the Southern side) – Ga Bridge – Bui Thi Xuan St., – Da Vien Bridge – Le Duan St., and fished in front of Nghinh Luong Dinh.
In the distance of 6.2km, the male and female athletes started from Nghinh Luong Dinh, and then ran through the walking path along the Huong River (the Northern side) – Truong Tien Bridge corridors – Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking path – the walking path along the Huong River (the Southern side) – Ga (Station) Bridge – Bui Thi Xuan St., – Da Vien Bridge – Le Duan St., and finished in front of Nghinh Luong Dinh.
With these routes, in addition to showing their talents on fewer obstacles and safer roads, the athletes could also enjoy the beautiful landscape on the two sides of the Huong River from the start to finish.
This was the highlight of the Olympic Running Day for the whole population and the Provincial Traditional Cross-country of this year; at the same time, it was also one of the effective methods to promote an image of green, beautiful, and dynamic Hue to people everywhere.
