Co-Plus Company has nearly finished the data digitization and is going to choose the technology to apply

For businesses to "move" faster

From 2014 to 2017, the concept of digital transformation was quite strange; and only a small part of businesses was interested in this concept. Since 2020, digital transformation and the 4th Industrial Revolution have been the keywords that are frequently mentioned when the achievements of science and technology are present in every aspect of life. Especially due to the impacts of the pandemic, businesses have increased their activities in the online platform.

In Hue, after "unforgettable" experiences from the recent pandemic's impacts, many businesses have decided to focus on investing in digital transformation to ensure both business development and disease prevention and have a flexible plan to adapt if the pandemic recurs.

In 2020, Co-Plus Company made the first step in preparing for digitization and digital transformation at the firm. Up to now, nearly 100% of internal and customer data has been digitized. Co-Plus is currently establishing processes for departments and preparing for the selection of technologies for application.

"We are considering in choosing the existing technologies from abroad or using new domestic technology. After digitizing and building the process, our company will build a platform to share and connect data, fully interacting online," informed Nguyen Thi An Nhan, CEO of Co-Plus company.

To prepare for this stage, Co-Plus had planned it a few years ago. "The company is fortunate to have the director board's members specializing in technology and have worked frequently with technology units; so, it has a certain advantage when starting the internal digital transformation process. In addition, digital transformation is a national program and considerably supported by the Government, partly helping businesses to access the resources they need, and by experts in building a digital transformation plan," said An Nhan.

Mr. Tran Minh Duc, Director of Hong Duc Joint Stock Company, shared that since 2015, Hong Duc has implemented the digital transformation. Starting from using the Online office suit – an office software and, in fact, it has brought efficiency to businesses.

"The most obvious advantage is that it increases working productivity, reduces operating costs and helps businesses become "smarter”; especially, the management work on each department and staff is better thanks to the diary recording system of each member," said Mr. Duc.

According to Mr. Duc, any enterprise that soon implements the digital transformation will benefit from this activity, especially when production and business activities are increasingly closely attached and dependent on the digital economy, which is already growing rapidly day by day.

Many solutions to support

We are living in a period when digital transformation is an inevitable trend. And, the transition from the traditional way of doing business to digital platforms is becoming more and more popular, considered as an effective solution to help enterprises to penetrate and expand markets, in the context that Vietnam is increasingly integrating deeply with the world economy and the digital revolution is developing strongly all over the world.

In Hue, with over 95% of small and micro enterprises, according to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, the director of the Department of Information and Communications, the digital transformation is quite challenging since the traditional thinking and methods are still the majority. Therefore, promoting digital transformation is an urgent problem today.

"At present, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the Ministry of Information and Communications have had programs to promote digital transformation for small and medium enterprises. Besides, the province is also taking advantage of integrating central programs with local ones. Recently, the Provincial Business Association have coordinated with the Department of Planning and Investment to organize activities and seminars on digital transformation for enterprises to prepare for promoting digital transformation in the coming time," stated Mr. Son.

Mr. Duong Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Provincial Businessmen Association, said that in the present time, digital transformation is an opportunity for businesses, and they have to "put their hand" to work immediately with specific solutions.

"For the Association, we are organizing activities for businesses to approach the digital transformation and e-commerce and holding the Association's e-commerce platform for businesses to give advantages to the member enterprises in the local area."

To encourage enterprises to move faster in the process of digital transformation, the Department of Science and Technology is creating a long-term plan to support enterprises with providing more solutions to encourage enterprises to apply more advanced technologies in product promotion, traceability application, application of new production and business models through start-up and in technology innovation policy programs.

"In addition, we will aid local manufacturing enterprises in accessing digital technologies to promote their products and in accessing advanced production technologies to enhance their reputation and products in the process of production and sale," said Mr. Ho Thang, Director of the Department of Science and Technology.

Currently, the Government has approved the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with the orientation to 2030. Thua Thien Hue also has a plan to implement the digital transformation program to 2025. It is clear that the national and provincial digital transformation strategy has had a roadmap, so the remaining issue is the capacity and energy of each enterprise in their awareness, investment, and implementation.
