The 15th Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival of the mountainous ethnic groups in Thua Thien Hue Province in 2024 will open on the evening of May 15 at the Central Square of A Luoi District. Accompanying the festival will be events including: culinary festival, display of sketch works, documentary exhibition, sports competition, mobile film screening, reenactment of unique festivals of ethnic minority groups, and community tourism tours, etc.
Mr. Hai said that through the festival, it would further enhance the understanding, solidarity, and cultural exchange among mountainous ethnic groups. Thereby, it will contribute to introducing the unique cultural features and unique richness of the culture of Thua Thien Hue's mountainous ethnic groups in Vietnamese ethnic community, and contribute to preserving the cultural values of Thua Thien Hue's mountainous people. At the same time, it will introduce tourism potentials through the systems of historical sites, community tourism, eco-tourism, culinary culture, handicrafts, and traditional festivals of the ethnic groups, etc.

One of the highlights of May is the Duong No village festival, which will take place from May 18 to 20 at Duong No village (Phu Duong commune, Hue city). The festival themed "Duong No - the Journey in May" will open on the evening of May 18 at Duong No village communal house.
As part of the festival program, there will be a procession of lotus flowers and portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, and a flower offering ceremony to President Ho Chi Minh on the morning of May 19. In addition, there will be experiential activities, folk games, a photo exhibition, an art program for the community, and a boat racing, etc.
The Duong No village festival is held to honor and pay tribute to beloved President Ho Chi Minh, who dedicated his life to the country and the people. Through the activities, the festival aims to introduce to visitors the spiritual and material values of President Ho Chi Minh's legacy in Thua Thien Hue, so that the relics associated with Him will become the places to visit, and to create unique cultural products that attract visitors.
