Descendant of Emperor Ham Nghi talking with students in Hue

TTH.VN - Continuing a series of activities within the visiting and working trip in Hue, on the afternoon of January 11, Dr. Amandine Dabat, a researcher in art history, the 5th generation descendant of Emperor Ham Nghi, had a talk with students at the French Institute in Hue.

This is an initial activity of the French Institute in Hue, among a series of activities throughout 2023 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Vietnam.

Dr. Amandine Dabat introduced to young people the scientific researches in her doctoral dissertation, on the life and art of Emperor Ham Nghi. In which, the focus is on the timelines, the event that Emperor Ham Nghi was arrested, the Emperor in exile, his days in Algeria, the process leading him to art as well as his art world, etc.

This is an opportunity for young people in Hue to understand well about Emperor Ham Nghi and his spirit of patriotism. Via the historical story of the 8th Emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, the message of patriotism and love for the homeland is conveyed to young people.
