Launching Hue Books and Culture Club

TTH.VN - On the morning of September 29, Hue City Center for Culture, Information and Sports held a launching ceremony for the “Hue Books and Culture” Club at 23 - 25 Le Loi Street (Hue City), aiming to carry out activities related to books and culture.

The Hue Books and Culture Club was established under the direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, with the aim of building Hue Books Space, leading to the construction of Hue Cultural Space; promoting activities towards socialization through connecting units and organizations in the area. On the first day of its launch, the club has 20 members, who are working in various fields but sharing a common passion for reading, exploring and spreading the cultural values of Hue.

According to Mrs. Truong Thi My Dung, the Chairwoman, the Club continues to welcome new members as well as organizing activities related to books and culture, such as for book exchanges, author-reader interactions, and exchanges of cultural topics, etc. In addition, a website will be launched and operated alongside the already established Fanpage, to communicate information for the Club's activities.

Up to now, Hue Books Space has received nearly 300 copies of books from numerous artists, intellectuals and authors from Hue, as well as those who love Hue from all over the country. Among these, there are 72 books (94 volumes) written about Hue, 32 books written by Hue people, and 46 other books; of which, the list of suggested Hue-related books from the public has reached nearly 800 books. In the near future, Hue Books Space will be handed over to Hue Books and Culture Club to promote reading culture and the cultural values of Hue to a wider audience, not only in Hue but also throughout the country.

At the launching event, the Club received numerous book donated from organizations and individuals, who want to build the space for Hue Books and Culture.
