The Plastic Reduction Action Partnership Group appeared itself in Hue City on December 18
Being aware of the plastic waste pollution problem in Hue City, the project "Hue – A plastic smart city in Central Vietnam" has coordinated to promote the calling for the cooperation of state agencies, associations and businesses to establish the Plastic Reduction Action Partnership Group.
With the 12 initial members, the partnership group has been established with the aims to connect and mobilize the participation of the public and private sectors; coming together to come up with ideas and actions to reduce plastics; thereby minimizing the plastic waste emission into the environment, contributing to making Hue a plastic smart city.
The partnership group has carried out its first campaign of "Modern users - No hesitance to reduce plastics", which had been launched on December 11, 2022 and was officially implemented on December 18, 2022.
The campaign has called for the companionship of 16 business units, with 31 business establishments in Hue City, and more than 1,000 Hue locals pledging to become users reducing plastics on the landing page at https://huedothigiamnhua.com.
According to Ms. Hoang Ngoc Tuong Van, manager of the project "Hue – A plastic smart city in Central Vietnam", WWF – Vietnam, under the goal, Hue City is striving to reduce plastic waste by 30% by 2024.
The event held on December 18 is the kick-off step for a series of connecting activities by the Plastic Reduction Action Partnership Group, contributing to promoting the change of consumer behavior, minimizing the use of plastic disposable, and contributing to turning Hue into a green tourist destination, with many stores selling food and beverage without plastic waste...
