Nearly 150 candidates participate in the Olympiad in Informatics for Vietnamese students in Hue

TTH.VN - On the morning of November 5, at the University of Sciences, Hue University (the host), the 32nd Olympiad in Informatics for Vietnamese students (ICPC) in the Central Region took place.

 The candidates at the University of Sciences, Hue University

A total of 49 teams, including 147 candidates (3 contestants per team) coming from Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Quang Tri, etc., joined the Olympiad at Thua Thien Hue exam center. This was the second largest exam center in the total of 16 exam centers in the country.

The contest held by the Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP), the Vietnamese Students’ Association, and Ministry of Education and Training for students from universities and colleges nationwide. It aims to build up a wholesome and practical playground, helping students to develop programing skills, logical thinking, and problem-solving ability. Besides that, the contest was also a chance for students to exchange, learn from each other, and show off their talents.

The Olympiad in Informatics for Vietnamese Students was held for the first time in 1992. After more than 30 years of organizing, this contest has become a prestigious and professional playground, attracting the participation of a great number of students all over the country. It’s known that the 32nd Olympiad in Informatics for Vietnamese Students witnessed the participation of 415 teams; among them, 268 teams coming from universities and 147 teams from high school sector.

When the contest finishes, the organizing committee will select 110 Vietnamese teams to go to the final of ICPC Asia Hue City with 10 international teams coming from Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand, which is scheduled to take place on December 8, 2023 at the University of Sciences, Hue University.
