Initially, with support from Ms. Kazuyo Watanabe, founder and president of the Asian Children’s Care League (ACCL), the hospital set up a recreational area and a staircase on the fourth floor. Later, the Youth and Hope Foundation (New York) and Dr. Kevin Beh (Malaysia) provided additional funding to renovate this space into a spacious, airy, and fully equipped area. Following a month of development, the “Space for Kids” project has been fully furnished with facilities and a management system for the play area.

In this new open space, children can play, read books, and participate in suitable activities and programs with both local and international volunteers.

According to Doctor Hoang Thi Lan Huong, M.S., Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital, the hospital aims to create a comfortable, safe, and convenient space for pediatric patients alongside medical treatment. Here, children can continue learning and playing with their families and loved ones, gaining strength and confidence to overcome their illnesses. Furthermore, they have the opportunity for comprehensive development, bettering themselves, and community integration.
