What I could say is “Great!"
That greatness was shared by Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kieu Anh (Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province). From Quang Tri, Mrs. Kieu Anh has been staying at the Hue Central Hospital for one month to take care of her husband, Mr. Nguyen Q. V., with esophageal tumor. After the surgery, Mr. V. continued to undergo treatment at the Pediatric and Acute Abdominal Surgery Department.
From May 2020, after visting a private clinic in Dong Ha city, Mr. V. was suspected to have a tumor in the esophagus. Mrs. Kieu Anh's family decided to go to Hue Central Hospital for medical examination, diagnosis and treatment. Since then, although she has not been continuously at the hospital and her husband has been referred to other departments, Ms. Kieu Anh still felt secure to stand by and encouraging her husband to be optimistic to receive treatment.
“Mr. V. was the first person in our family to come for treatment at Hue Central Hospital. It was strange but here we are; the whole family feel secure because it is not too far from home. There are good doctors and many modern equipment. Here, although being worried about my husband's health, thanks to the regular check from the doctors; and the nurses are all gentle and nice, so we feel very safe,” Mrs. Kieu Anh happily shared.
Lying on the hospital bed, Mr. V. could not speak but lovingly looked at his wife and nodded every time she smiled. Warmth spreads through the hospital room.

From Dong Hoi City (Quang Binh Province), Ms. Hoang Thi Hien also did not hesitate to bring her daughter Nguyen Hoang Ha T. (12 years old) to Hue Central Hospital after long episodes of headache.
At the time of admission, Ha T. had a severe headache. After doing the tests, the doctors determined that the baby had bacterial meningitis, a very dangerous condition. Over a month of following treatment at the Pediatric Center, Ha T. was getting better, coming to herself and being very happy.
Looking at her smiling in the hospital bed, Ms. Hien was optimistic: “I brought my child directly to Hue Central Hospital; it was not because I did not trust lower level hospitals. Seeing my child with a severe headache, I was scared. All that I could think was to go to Hue as soon as possible. Coming from another city, everything here is strange, but the doctors in the department cared for us regularly, so we feel very warm; there’s nothing to worry about.

In recent years, Hue Central Hospital has constantly improved the quality of medical examination and treatment, with many important achievements in various fields.
Compared to the time of 5 years ago, the total number of medical examinations is up to 3.2 million, increasing by 28%; the total number of in-patients increases by 30%; the total number of moderate, major and special surgeries increases by 15%.
Hue Central Hospital has enlisted the support of the Ministry of Health, international resources. It has invested in many strategic infrastructure projects with 10 centers and high-tech buildings from Japanese ODA, creating the appearance of a modern hospital on a regional and international level.
Looking back at 10 years of implementation of Conclusion 48-KL / TW, dated May 25, 2009 of the Politburo, Resolution 11-NQ / TU, dated March 26, 2012 of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee on building the Center For specialized medical care in the central region and the nation, Hue Central Hospital has made many achievements in many fields, completing the objectives of the Resolution.
That is to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for people in the province and the region; to become the leading unit in the deployment of many high technology in specialized diagnosis and treatment on a regional and international level, such as: heart, liver, kidney, stem cell, corneal transplant, in vitro fertilization, 3D or 4K endoscopic surgery, cancer treatment ...
In addition to Hue Central Hospital - a unit directly under the Ministry of Health in the area, Thua Thien Hue will review the healthcare system so that the local healthcare sector may reach the standard of the central health care, contributing to the process of making Thua Thien Hue a specialized medical center of the country.
In the coming time, Thua Thien Hue will continue to synchronously build and improve the capacity of specialized medical institutions; to create favorable conditions for the development of Hue Central Hospital, together with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, to reach the standards of advanced hospitals in Southeast Asia, striving to reach international medical standards; to perfect the medical network associated with the people's health care at the same time.
In particular, it will focus on consolidating the grassroots healthcare system; 100% of medical stations have to meet the standards, with sufficient conditions for medical examination and treatment covered by health insurance and fully implement the contents of primary health care and public health; 100% of district health centers can perform at least 90% of the list of technical services of the district level; 100% of the population is managed and monitored for health.
“Thua Thien Hue will build health care into an important, spearhead economic sector with 5 breakthroughs: human resource training, IT development in health, promoting the role of medical examination and treatment, building research centers, and researching and developing traditional medicine,” emphasized Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho.
