Presenting 10.000 national flags to fishermen

TTH.VN - On the morning of May 17, Nguoi Lao dong Newspaper held a ceremony to present 10.000 national flags and medical equipment bags to the fishermen in the provincial area. Attending the ceremony were Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong; Head of Representative Office of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper in the Central Region Dang Hoang Dung.

It was considered a practical significant activity, contributing to ensuring the safety for the fishermen and fishing vessels, minimizing the risk of human and property damage at sea. At the same time, encouraging the fishermen keep on reaching out to the sea for fishing seafood, heading towards the goals of economic development and contributing to protecting the sovereignty over sea and islands.

In addition to the program of presenting 10.000 national flags, over the years, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has also carried out many other programs in Thua Thien Hue province, especially supporting and helping people suffering damages caused by flood. Recently, through the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Thua Thien Hue province, the newspaper presented 100 scholarships to ethnic minority students.

Up to now, out of the total of 1 million national flags under the newspaper’s program, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper handed over 783 thousand national flags to the fishermen nationwide.

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong expressed his joy and gratitude to Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper for launching the program “One million national flags along with fishermen reaching out to the sea” for the fishermen all over the country in general and those who are in Thua Thien Hue in particular.
