Vietnam-Laos conference on exchange of experience in religious affairs

TTH.VN - On October 11 in Vietnam, the Government’s Committee for Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Lao Front for National Construction Central Committee held a conference to exchange experience in religious affairs for officials of the seventh Lao Front for National Construction.

The conference is an opportunity for both sides to share experience and practical lessons in each country's religious affairs. It further enhances the capacity of management, as well as the validity and effectiveness of religious sector, contributing significantly to the maintenance of social stability, more and more prosperous building and development of the two countries.

In the context of the growing friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, the two agencies in charge of religious affairs of the two countries have continuously strengthened the cooperation relations and achieved many positive results in the field of religion. Within the framework of the cooperation agreement on religious affairs for the period of 2007-2014 and 2014-2020, the two sides have alternately dispatched 9 high-level delegations to visit and work in each other’s country; jointly organized 6 conferences to exchange experience in religious affairs for nearly 100 officials working inreligious affairs of  Laos and Vietnam.

Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho said that the religious affairs had been paid attention to by the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, directing the departments and localities to facilitate religious activities and build the block of national unity, contributing to the construction of civilized, rich and beautiful Thua Thien Hue.

The results of the religious affairs achieved by Thua Thien Hue province are hoped to serve as topics for discussion and analysis at the conference so as to have more insights into the issues and contents in religious affairs. Thereby, they will contribute effectively to the planning and implementation of the religious guidelines and policies of the two countries Vietnam-Laos in the coming time.

The conference takes place from October 11-19.
