Luu Bao turmeric rice paper
TTH.VN - Luu Bao - a peaceful village located about 8 kilometers from the center of Hue City, in Huong Ho Ward, has been home to bustling rice paper kilns for three centuries.
In the past, rice paper (banh trang) was a type of dry food provision created during the preparation for the Tay Son army's campaign moving to the North at high speed. After hundreds of years of practicing and preserving this craft, in 2014, the “Luu Bao rice paper and wet rice paper craft village” was officially recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a traditional craft village of the province.
The products of Luu Bao are diverse, with the skills and the intelligence of locals, adapting to life such as: flour rice paper, rice paper, black sesame rice paper, white sesame rice paper, and turmeric rice paper, etc. Through the photos captured by Nguyen Khoa Huy, the photographer, Thua Thien Hue Weekly would like to introduce to readers the turmeric rice paper of Luu Bao - a satisfying snack, rich in the flavor of the countryside, with visually appealing color, reasonable price, and also ensuring food safety and hygiene.
