Racing against fierce waves

TTH.VN - Although being aware that it was an uphill battle, the emergency response forces, combating the coastal erosion caused by the recent typhoon No. 6 (typhoon Trami), raced against time and fierce waves with the utmost determination to protect the coastline.

Before making landfall, Typhoon No. 6 had already "marked its presence" with fierce waves that hit 1,000 meters of the coastline of Thuan An (Hue City) and Phu Thuan (Phu Vang). With thousands of workdays, hundreds of officials, soldiers, and residents of Phu Thuan commune and Thuan An ward had devoted to working together to withstand the rain, storm, and rough waves, protecting their land and village.

Recently, upon checking the situation of coastal erosion, Recently, Mr. Tran Quang Hoai, General Director of the General Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, has asked localities to review and propose plans for urgent handling of critical points and applying advanced solutions to deal with the aftermaths of landslides to ensure safety.
