Yellow apricot blossom at the front entrance

The flower has been planted for a long time in royal palaces, residences, communal courtyards, pagoda gateway, and in the front yards of the locals’ houses, etc. This creates a elegant beauty, which becomes a symbol of Hue’s nature and people in springtime, and of the daily life in Hue.

Thanks to the provincial leaders’ determination to restore and develop “Hoang Mai of Hue”, along with the companionship of the locals over the past few years, a number of gardens which have been planned and planted with Hue yellow apricot variety have turned out with initial positive results.

Two yellow apricot gardens in the pilot phase, one located in front of Hue Imperial Citadel and the other in a park on Le Duan Street, have become splendid and elegant during Tet with carpets of brilliant yellow flowers, producing pure fragrance, and attracting the locals and visitors.

With a view to developing the movement of planting yellow apricot trees to make Hue more beautiful, as part of the project of "Hue – a city of four seasons of flowers", Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, launched the campaign of "Yellow apricot blossom at the front entrance". The campaign mobilizes households, state agencies and businesses in the province to plant yellow apricot trees at the front entrance and in the front yard to turn Thua Thien Hue into the land of yellow apricot blossom of Vietnam.
