With the goal of gradually improving infrastructure to pave the way for becoming a centrally-governed city, Hue City has been implementing many large-scale projects while accelerating the progress of constructions to ensure they are completed and come into operation by 2025.

This is the goal set by Hue University. Achieving this will not only enhance the role and position of the Institute of Biotechnology in particular and Hue University in general but also the status of the centrally governed city in the coming time. To better understand the direction, implementation solutions, and future role of the center, Thua Thien Hue Weekly had a meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Thi Hong Hai, Director of the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University.

Never before have the people of Hue Ancient Capital talked about so many traffic construction projects and works as they do now. After the complete liberation of the South, the country was unified, Thua Thien Hue remained a locality bearing many scars of war; the lives of the people were extremely difficult; many buildings, architectures were desolate and in ruins. But it is also from here that the Ancient Capital is not alone on its journey of revival from desolation and gradually developing in a sustainable manner, with the goal of striving to become a centrally-governed city with its own unique strengths.

In creating a new facade for urban areas, beyond beautification, investment in infrastructure, commerce, services, and improving the quality of urban life... transport infrastructure is also a key element in connecting and contributing to making Thua Thien Hue soon become a centrally-governed city.

Becoming a National University is an important goal of Hue University, contributing to make Thua Thien Hue a centrally-governed city. To achieve this important goal, Hue University has promoted all its internal resources.

In the story of Thua Thien Hue “transforming” to a centrally-governed city, the names of the future city and administrative units are being discussed on every corner.

On January 10th, the Office of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) announced the start of PPC’s 2-month opinion consultation about models of the establishment of the coming centrally-governed city.
