A Biah Hill, a.k.a Hamburger Hill, or Hill 937 is one of two historical destinations in the A Luoi highlands. The higher you climb towards the top of the hill, the narrower and more desolate the road becomes. Yet, this place still has a strange attraction for tourists, especially veterans from both within and outside the country. Many elderly visitors have to cut trees to make walking sticks, conquering more than 850 steps over 1.5km long to reach the summit.

Over 150 highland residents from Nam Dong and A Luoi received free cataract surgeries, returning to their daily lives. This is the result of two meaningful volunteer surgery missions led by Professor Hattori Tadashi from Hue Eye Hospital and other humanitarian organizations.

Located approximately 4km northwest of the center of A Luoi district, along the Ho Chi Minh Highway, the eco-tourism area of A Nor (Hong Kim commune) has now transformed into a vibrant homestay and farm stay hub in the highlands.

This season is when herbs are high in medicine and bees make honey. People in the highland of A Luoi then start their hard and dangerous trips looking for vegetables, mushrooms, honey, creek fishes, and so on.

Coming to A Luoi this season, you still get the chance to contemplate plum blossoms and pick the fruits from the plum trees grown in the gardens of A Luoi local people. Besides the peach blossoms, at present, the locality is encouraging and mobilizing people to grow plum blossoms in some areas to serve tourism.

Boi p'ruc is the name of the salt with leaves and seeds of the Ta Oi people in the A Luoi highland. This is the "divine" salt used for many dishes of the Ta Oi people on weekdays and traditional holidays.

On the evening of January 14th, A Luoi District People's Committee held the Opening Ceremony of the Fair and reenacted the Housewarming Celebration at the district’s fair area that had just been put into use.

The rainy season in the highlands of A Luoi is quite melancholy. In the morning, as soon as I opened the window, the mountain wind came rushing in. Looking into the distance, the Truong Son mountain range is overlapped in the light rain.

A Luoi highland Festival will take place from April 29 to May 1 at the Community Center for Ethnic Groups of A Luoi Town.

In the summer, while going on A Luoi roads, you will suddenly encounter wild flowers brought home by people to beautify their house landscape, and hamlet alleys, etc...
