“I am always worried that time passes by too quickly while I am too slow to do many things for my children and grandchildren in the future”, elder Hanh expressed his concern upon gazing at Truong Son (Annamite) mountain range in the distance. For generations, Pa Co people of his kind have taken refuge at the foot of this mountain range. Seeing the traditional culture of their ancestors gradually fading away over the years makes his heart ache, so he must do everything he can to preserve and conserve the beauty of his people.

This is the goal set by Hue University. Achieving this will not only enhance the role and position of the Institute of Biotechnology in particular and Hue University in general but also the status of the centrally governed city in the coming time. As a ‘symphony’ of Hue urban planning, the Perfume River has carried on its historical mission of adorning the elegance of Hue, and is now being preserved. This is the topic of a media creativity contest, which is organized by Thua Thien Hue Institute for Development Studies (HueIDS) in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), to promote and raise the awareness of green transportation in Hue City.

Recently, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province and the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam) co-hosted a conference titled: “Green Transitioning for Economic Prosperity: Future for East-West Corridor”. Nha Nhac or Hue royal court music emerged during the early years of the Ly Dynasty (from 1010 to 1225), but it was not until the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 - 1945) that this type of music truly flourished and became a heritage of the nation and humanity. Through many ups and downs, the Hue royal court music has been carefully preserved and empowered through generations, acting as a strong connection of the past with the present and the future.

Ms. Julie Lardon, a journalist and also a writer, in collaboration with Hue French Institute and Kim Dong Publishing House, organized the workshop themed “Quel Avenir Pour Nous?” (What future is for us?) in Hue.

For more than a year, the fact that the bridge over Thuan An sea mouth was constructed has always been a topical issue in Thua Thien Hue. Everywhere I went, people excitedly talked about building a bridge, and in the future, their hometown will have a bridge across the sea at the top of the Central region.
