As a routine, every Tuesday night at Ca Hue (Hue-Singing) Club belonging to Thua Thien Hue Culture, Information and Sports Center at 25 Le Loi Street, Excellent Artist Quynh Hoa comes early to burn splinters of agawood in a small urn placed on the performing mat. That is the dear and familiar image of Quynh Hoa in the hearts of club members and intimate audiences.

Inspired by the phoenix (“Linh phung” in Vietnamese), a symbol of eternal grace and happiness, the 12 ao dai collections showcased at the recent “Linh phung” Ao dai Festival have left deep impressions and emotions in the hearts of the public and audience.

In a drizzle and the chilly cold of Tet, my whole family sits around the table and plays Hue Art Memory Cards. The children laugh with delight as they drew two identical cards with beautiful royal motifs. Such feeling of gathering with the family on the first day of the new year is so cozy...
