Department of Tourism said in the past 2 days (July 24 and July 25), the number of tourists to Hue has increased sharply. Specifically, the number of visitors staying on July 25 reached 9,600. Compared to previous days, this figure increased by nearly 50%. Through recognition, on the morning of July 26, visitors to Hue by road continues to increase. For a long time, now, Nguyen Hoang Bus Station has been operating at full capacity as in the past days.
Being in the Imperial Citadel on the morning of July 26, we recorded a large number of visitors. Mr. Nguyen Gia Bao, a tourist from Nam Dinh, said: “I know that Da Nang city has just recorded a new patient infected with COVID-19, but through mass media, I know that Hue is still safe, so my family chose Hue to go for a sightseeing. Today people around me are still happy, so I have nothing to worry. Even so, we will stop in Hue and return to Nam Dinh, though before that, the family's schedule is to end in Binh Dinh ”.
According to the Department of Tourism, the number of visitors to Hue has increased sharply compared to the previous days for many reasons. Firstly, many travel agencies changed the tour schedule, instead of going to Da Nang to they chose to go to Hue. Many guests from Danang moved out and did not move back but chose to stay in Hue; in addition, visitors to the three localities of Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam, when they first flew to Hue to visit, then decided to stop in Hue and not to move to Da Nang or Quang Nam as expected.
It's been such a long time that Nguyen Hoang Bus Station welcomed so many travel buses.
Mr. Nguyen Nhu Nam, General Director of Vietnam Travel Mart Joint Stock Company, said that from 13h00 on July 26, Da Nang applied social distancing and did not welcome or serve any tourists, so tours to 3 provinces Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam were cancelled nearly 100%. As for the guests in these three localities, depending on the requirements of guests, we will have the appropriate adjustment.
The plan most businesses implement is to halt all tour activities in Da Nang and the Central to "free" the remaining passengers in the 3 localities. It is likely that the remaining guests in Da Nang will move to Hue to fly back home, but this option is applied only with the consent of the State management agency.
In this new development, Hue tourism industry shared that the most important thing is to ensure the safety of tourists now. Regarding accommodation, Hue will basically provide enough of it.
According to tourism businesses, the ability of visitors in the Central in general and in Hue in particular will decrease gradually within the next 2 or 3 days.
Tours from Hue to other localities also fluctuate. Director of Hue Connection Travel Co., Ltd. Nguyen Ngoc An said that tours to Da Nang and Quang Nam of the company were canceled, and the tours that go further still maintained. All are waiting for new developments of the pandemic to have the next plan.

Mr. Le Huu Minh, Acting Director of the Department of Tourism said: “It is true that there is anxiety from some tourists and tourism businesses. At this time, we should be calm, Hue is currently very safe, activities still occur as usual. On July 25, the province re-activated 23 teams to quickly respond to COVID-19, and the tourism industry immediately implemented strict prevention measures like the previous pandemic phase. "
“The Department of Tourism proposes that establishments seriously implement the set of criteria for evaluating safety in preventing and fighting COVID-19, including: The set of criteria on safe accommodation establishments to prevent and fight pandemic; Set of criteria for tourist attractions / tourist service facilities that prevent and control pandemic; Set of criteria for safe travel businesses to prevent and fight pandemic. Especially, the Department of Tourism requires the units to strictly implement the medical declaration for guests staying. Conducting body temperature measurement, providing disinfecting hand sanitizer, medical masks and other disease prevention and control measures according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health,” Mr. Minh affirmed.
Recorded on July 26, the business establishments staying in the area seriously did health declaration and implemented the required solutions from the Department of Tourism.
However, a problem is being posed as the number of tourists from Da Nang is expected to continue to move to Hue. Whether giving reception or not also needs putting into consideration, because of the element of safety and the element of not "abandoning" visitors. Mr. Le Huu Minh said that he will propose measures to the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 prevention and will announce the next solution in the shortest time.
