Aiming at reducing flood risks in Central Vietnam
TTH.VN - On the morning of November 1, scientists from Hue University, FloodAdaptVN project, BMBF fund (Federal Republic of Germany) attended an international seminar on “Integrating ecosystem-based approaches and flood risks management to develop the sustainable and adaptive urban in Central Vietnam” took place in Hue.

According to the plan, within the framework of the FloodAdaptVN project, there will be activities to assist local officials in managing and reducing flood risks such as analyzing causes, features and variation of flood risks through remote sensing images, hydrological models and area data; modeling future flood risks based on climate change scenarios; assessing impacts, losses of households and constructions; and planning coping scenarios, etc.
Speaking at the seminar, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized: “The province commits to carry on directing associated departments, agencies and localities to coordinate and support Hue University and experts from Germany in implementing the project on schedule and efficiently.
