The two provinces agree to collaborate in various fields in the coming time |
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu, along with Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong and other representatives of relevant departments and agencies, welcomed and worked with the delegation.
At the meeting, Secretary Le Truong Luu provided updates on the economic and social development, Party building work, and local government construction in Thua Thien Hue Province, as well as the results of the cooperation between the two provinces in the past time.
Mr. Le Truong Luu affirmed that Vietnam and Laos were two neighboring countries with a special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation which is nurtured continuously.
The cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos, in general, and between Thua Thien Hue and Champasak, in particular, has been continuously strengthened and developed.
Thua Thien Hue has been actively involved in supporting and assisting in the training of human resources for Champasak province. As a result, from 2002 up to now, 1,347 Lao students have been trained in Thua Thien Hue, including 225 students from Champasak province. The province also regularly organizes events related to Lao students studying in the region.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed his hope for further consolidation and enhancement of the friendly cooperation in all fields, based on the cooperation framework agreement signed for the 2022-2026 period, especially in education, healthcare, trade, and tourism.
On behalf of the Champasak Provincial Delegation, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Governor Vilayvong Butdakham, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Thua Thien Hue for their special attention to the Lao Party, State, and people in general, and to Champasak province in particular.
Mr. Vilayvong Butdakham emphasized that the good and beautiful cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos, as well as between Thua Thien Hue and Champasak, would continue to be nurtured, developed, and consolidated, becoming a fine tradition of the two countries and two peoples.
Mr. Vilayvong Butdakham aslo hoped that the leaders of Thua Thien Hue Province would continue to create conditions for the governments of the two provinces to exchange and learn from each other's experiences in various activities, cooperate in national security and defence, exchanging cultural cooperation, developing tourism, preserving cultural heritage values, connecting localities in the East-West economic corridor, and promoting trade for export to countries in the region and worldwide.
