Hue University named in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings
TTH.VN - According to the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 (THE 2023), Hue University was named in the official ranking list for the first time, Hue University said on the morning of October 12. This is an important event, marking the strong development of Hue University in terms of staff, training activities, scientific and technological results, etc.

Vietnam has 6 higher education institutions (HEIs) ranked in THE World University Rankings 2023, of which 5 have been listed since THE 2022, including Duy Tan University, Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnam National University - Hanoi (VNU), Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), while Hue University is the new unit in the list.
This year, THE rankings includes 1799 higher education institutions from 104 countries and territories. THE rankings is based on 13 criteria in 4 areas: training, scientific researching, knowledge transfering and international outlook. THE analyzed more than 121 million citations; more than 15.5 million scientific publications and surveys of more than 40,000 scholars worldwide.
The most important condition for a higher education institution to be ranked in THE is within 5 years up to the year preceding the year in which the ranking data is collected, there must be a total number of Scopus articles of 1,000 or more, with no less than 150 articles in each year. In 5 years (2017-2021), the total number of Scopus articles of Hue University has reached nearly 1,650, and is over 150 articles in each of all five years.
According to a representative of Hue University, this educational institution is owning many policies to develop the scale and improve the quality of its staff, the quality of activities of training, science and technology, and international cooperation to achieve its goal of entering the top 1,000 universities in the world and the top 300 universities in Asia, developing into a national university in the spirit of Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
