Discussion on solutions to manage, preserve and promote the value of relics
"The management, preservation and promotion of the value of cultural and historical relics and attractions in Thua Thien Hue province: Facts and Problems" was the theme of the workshop held by the Museum of History on November 23, on the occasion of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day.
Thua Thien Hue has 156 relics ranked at national and provincial levels. Despite the attention and efforts of the authorities at many levels and professional management agencies, the system of historical and cultural relics in Thua Thien Hue (except for the Nguyen Dynasty’s monument complex which has passed the period of salvation, and is being steadily preserved and promoted) is at risk of serious damage.
In the restoration of relics, there still remain weaknesses. The processes of applying for guidelines, appraisal and approval of projects on restoration of relics are overlapping, with many steps and procedures, and time-consuming.
At the workshop, managers and researchers discussed the solutions to better manage and promote the value of relics.
