Testing treatment of dioxin-contaminated soil by microorganism method at A So airport
A workshop on the results of testing the treatment of dioxin-contaminated soil by Korean microorganism method at A So airport (A Luoi, Thua Thien Hue) was jointly organized by Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) and A Luoi People's Committee on November 13.

A Luoi is one of the most heavily agent orange/dioxin contaminated areas during the war time. In recent years, with the supports of Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) and its Korean partners (BIC, KIT, KIOST), the district has coordinated the testing of treatment of dioxin-contaminated soil at A So airport.
At the workshop, Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) and Korean BJC Company awarded certificates of merit to Dong Son commune for their achievements in coordinating in the testing of dioxin treatment; A Dot commune for their achievements in biodiversity conservation; and supported VND 60 million for A Luoi to promote the construction of a chemical warfare monument according to the Government’s document No. 136/VPCP dated March 8, 2012.
At the same time, they also donated more than 30 gifts to households infected with dioxin in the district...
