Hai Duong Commune (Hue City) is considered a most arduous and challenging place with a long coastline to the southeast and Tam Giang lagoon to the southwest. Through many generations exploring the land, establishing villages and settling down, the people of Hai Duong have suffered a lot of pressure from waves and winds; nevertheless, they are still living in harmony with the harsh nature and living on marine products.
Thanks to the advantages like the pristine coastline, clear blue seawater, towering lighthouse and moss-covered high and low rocky beaches, etc., Hai Duong is now a hard-to-miss “check-in” destination for many young people, who are passionate about backpacking.
Through the photo angles of Ngoc Thanh, a photographer, Thua Thien Hue Weekly would like to introduce you to the normal daily life of Hai Duong people on summer days. That is, at dawn or dusk, the locals there often wade into the sea to catch fish by pulling and releasing fishing nets. At night, men with strong legs wade into the sea to catch squids near the shore. With the "gifts" they receive, they often light a fire, grill and enjoy them right on the beach. It's so peaceful and calm.
