The program is a collaboration between Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Department of Science and Technology, and Hue Yellow Apricot Association. The event was attended by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Truong Luu, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho, along with leaders of departments, sectors, as well as a large number of tourists and admirers of Hue yellow apricot.

The yellow apricot is a famous flower in Vietnam. For Thua Thien Hue, the yellow apricot possesses unique native genes often referred to as Hue Yellow Apricot. The flower has bright yellow color, elegant posture, and a faint, delicate fragrance. Hue Yellow Apricots have been cultivated for generations in imperial palaces, temples, shrines, courtyards, pagoda doors, and private gardens… creating a luxurious beauty and becoming a symbol of spring for both nature and the people of Hue.

With the determination to revive and develop the Hue Yellow Apricot, turning Thua Thien Hue into the land of apricots in Vietnam, several gardens have planned and cultivated the authentic Hue yellow apricot variety, yielding positive results. Following these successes, the Yellow Apricot Festival is organized to honor and spread the cultural and artistic values of Hue people and the brand of Hue Yellow Apricot during the Lunar New Year.

This year's Yellow Apricot Festival has received enthusiastic response from artists cultivating apricots in all local yellow apricot associations. The event has brought together nearly 400 of the most unique apricot works by artisans. Within the framework of the program, the organizing committee have also provided opportunities for Hue Yellow Apricot Association to organize various meaningful activities, such as voting and awarding prizes for beautiful apricots, exchanging experiences, skills, organizing fundraising auctions, and facilitating the exchange and sale of Hue Yellow Apricots…

The activities of Hue Yellow Apricot Festival promise to be a meaningful playground for the preservation, promotion, and development of the status of the Yellow Apricot during the traditional Tet holiday, laying the foundation for organizing the annual Yellow Apricot Festival. Residents and tourists will have the opportunity to admire the most outstanding works of artists, organizations, and garden owners who are members of the Hue Yellow Apricot Association, showcasing ancient yellow apricot trees, massive yellow apricot trees, and bonsai yellow apricot trees competing and displaying their beauty.

The organizers hope that the festival will be a meaningful playground for experts, artists, and art enthusiasts to exchange experiences. It creates an opportunity for apricot growers to access the ornament apricot trees market from all directions, bringing economic benefits and promoting the image of the yellow apricot of Hue, aiming to build Hue into the land of yellow apricots in Vietnam.

The Hue Yellow Apricot Festival will run until February 8th. Before the opening ceremony, from January 28th, an exhibition space showcasing the Hue Yellow Apricot was held at Thuong Bac Park.
