Bold change
Focusing on building a force of athletes for high performance sports teams to compete and achieve good results at national and international tournaments in 2024 are the tasks set for the Thua Thien Hue sports in general and Hue Intermediate School of Physical Training and Sports in particular.
The targets for which Thua Thien Hue sports strive are to have athletes qualified to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics, to have 15 - 20 coaches and athletes concentrated at national teams, 100 - 150 athletes reaching master level, national level 1and to win 420 - 470 national and international medals.
According to Mr. Ho Dac Quang, Principal of Hue Intermediate School of Physical Training and Sports, from the movement practice, aside from ensuring the funding sources for teams to participate in domestic sports tournaments, it is necessary to permit the increase in the quota for training gifted athletes according to the road map from 10 - 15% of athletes per year; gradually experiment with training new sports in the Olympic sports system (Wushu, weightlifting) to enhance the position of Thua Thien Hue sports in the upcoming National Games.
Also according to Mr. Ho Dac Quang, in the long run, to make a sustainable breakthrough, alongside quickly consolidating and stabilizing the unit's apparatus and organizational structure after the project to convert Hue Intermediate School of Physical Training and Sports into the Center for Sports Training and Competition is approved, the province allows the unit to apply the sports talent remuneration policies in signing the training contracts for talented athletes and coaches from outside the province. There needs to be a remuneration policy for talented athletes and coaches who made many contributions to the province's sports after they no longer compete.
