Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Head of Steering Committee of the 21st Vietnam Film Festival, Ta Quang Dong handed on the host flag to Thua Thien Hue province.
Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai said: “There are big movie theaters in the province such as Cinestar Hue, Lotte Cinema, Starlight Cinema, BHD Star Cinema, Dong Ba Cinema, etc., that meet national and international standards. The 22nd Vietnam Film Festival in Hue will be a festival of Vietnamese cinema and a meeting place for Vietnamese filmmakers to meet with domestic and international audiences.”
Mr. Hai also said: “The 22nd Vietnam Film Festival will be an opportunity for film crews to discover, survey and experience the real values of Hue’s heritage, culture, art, nature and people. Thereby, they can build new creative art ideas to form good films in the future.”
For many years, Hue has been chosen as the filming site for famous films which win high prizes at prestigious domestic and international film festivals by local and international directors from companies such as Television Studio Lambert Associates (UK), NHK Television Station (Japan), CyArk Company (USA), FASAD Television Production Company (Sweden), etc.
