At the meeting, Mr. Kwak Busung said that the project on "Supporting the building of the new countryside in Trach Pho village, Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district in the period of 2017-2021" funded by the SGF, had achieved certain results after two years of implementation.
Up to now, the project has invested in building a Cultural House and Office for Trach Pho agricultural cooperative; organized training session on capacity building for village leaders, and production techniques for 24 households participating in the project; and piloted models of growing scallions and watermelons, etc. The total support fund has reached over USD 315,000 so far, or over 50.5% of the total capital of the whole project.
In addition, in 2019, the SGF is conducting the construction of the project on "Supporting the building of the new Saemaul village" in Huong Long ward, Hue city with a total estimated budget of USD 625,000, which is implemented in the period of 2019-2024.
Vice Chairman Phan Thien Dinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the support of the SGF for socio-economic development programs and projects of Thua Thien Hue province. The Vice Chairman also said that the project initially generated many benefits for the locals, especially in sharing the experiences of building the new countryside in South Korea as well as production activities and economic development under the new countryside model. The Vice Chairman also hopes that Thua Thien Hue will continue to receive the cooperation and support of the SGF in building new and model villages in province in the coming time.
