Acceptance and handing over of 10 automatic rain gauge stations in Hue

TTH.VN - On the morning of August 12, the Community Fund for Natural Disaster Prevention collaborated with Thien Tam Fund to organize the ceremony of acceptance and handing over the automatic rain gauge stations for early warning of floods in the Northern, Central, and Central Highlands provinces in 2022.

The project has installed 150 automatic rain gauge stations in 13 cities and provinces including Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, and Son La from June to August 2022, with the total value of over 5.9 billion VND.

In each province supported in installing the rain gauge station, the WATEC service provider organized the session to guide the use of Vrain rain gauge data exploitation on mobile phone application for commune officials, management units, as well as provided technical documents and guided the use of data exploitation for provincial disaster prevention agencies.

Particularly in Thua Thien Hue, in 2022, the Community Fund for Natural Disaster Prevention has supported in installing 10 more automatic rain gauge stations (Vrain) to serve the work of early warning of floods in localities, bringing the total number of Vrain stations in the provincial area up to 35, in which, the Fund has sponsored 25 ones, contributing to helping the agencies, organizations, and the people to strengthen their ability of monitoring, warning, and responding to floods in the real time, especially supporting the work of managing the safe operation of inter-reservoir on the Huong river basin, minimizing the damage caused by floods.

In Hue, the Department of Information and Communications has integrated Vrain into the Smart City Monitoring and Controlling Center to connect the automatic rain gauge equipment to the provincial joint using system to serve the work of management and disaster warning.

From 2009 to 2022, the Community Fund for Natural Disaster Prevention has mobilized more than 500 billion VND to focus on implementing the activities of community support all over the country. As for Thua Thien Hue province, the Fund has supported nearly 21 billion VND.
