Announcement of Thanh Tien ecological urban area subdivision planning |
The Thanh Tien ecological urban area covers an area of approximately 515 hectares within the boundaries of Phu Mau, Phu Duong communes, and Phu Thuong ward (Hue City). The projected population by 2045 is about 18,000 people.
Regarding functional subdivisions, the Thanh Tien ecological urban area is divided into five areas: Subdivision A (71.9 hectares) located in the northwest of the planning area, adjacent to the Huong River and the Mau Tai river. This will serve as the administrative center of Duong No, the educational, cultural, and sports hub of the area, enhancing existing residential areas and developing services and public amenities to meet regional development needs.
Subdivision B (approximately 108 hectares) located in the southwest of the planning area, adjacent to the Huong River. This area will feature traditional craft villages combined with tourism services, promoting the value of historical and cultural sites, traditional villages, and developing community tourism. Land will be allocated for organizing craft village events along the Huong River.
Subdivision C (approximately 157 hectares) located in the center of the planning area, adjacent to the Huong River in the south and the Pho Loi River in the east. This will be a new urban development area, including service, tourism, cultural, and healthcare centers, villa areas, and high-rise buildings as urban landmarks. A system of interconnected rivers will ensure drainage, with tourist boat docks planned.
Subdivision D (approximately 79 hectares) located in the northeast of the planning area, adjacent to the Pho Loi River branch, Ring Road 2, and National Highway 49. This will be a new urban development area following an agrarian-urban model, with services, commercial centers, tourist areas, high-end residential areas, and enhanced existing residential areas and Pho Loi riverside landscapes.
Subdivision E (approximately 97 hectares) located in the southeast of the planning area, adjacent to the Huong River, Pho Loi River, and Provincial Road 10. This area will consist of upgraded existing residential areas (mostly in Phu Thuong ward), new residential developments, riverside tourist areas, and supplemented urban infrastructure.
At the announcement, representatives from the Provincial Urban Development and Investment Management Board stated that Thanh Tien is a low-density ecological urban area development area located north of Hue City. It includes upgraded residential areas linked to traditional craft villages, new residential areas with synchronized social and technical infrastructure. The area will preserve the river landscape and develop unique ecological urban spaces.
