Blacksmithing tools from the Truong Tien home business (Huong Thuy) rated as TRIP of 2015.
Effect
As a business that has many times participated in TRIP competitions as well as having their own products rated as TRIP at the National level in 2015, Bach Lai private company (Quang Dien) continues to send their sawdust dryers to participate in the district level competition. From a small-scale facility producing agricultural-forestry-fishing gear in Quang An Commune (Quang Dien District), after the products were well accepted by consumers from within as well as outside the province, the company invested in building a factory in the Bac An Gia Industrial Cluster and manufactured new products such as multifunctional food dryers, sawdust dryers, ice cutters, rice dryers, animal food pellet machines, rice-husk compressors.
The company’s president - Mr. Tran Dinh Lai said: "After 7 years of submitting products to compete for the TRIP title from the district to the national level, the market for our mechanical products has expanded widely through our introductory and promotion programs on mass media. For the first 6 months of 2017, our company has sold nearly 20 machines of different categories, gaining an income of over 1.6 billion VND and created jobs for 22 employees."
The president of the Textile Co-operative in A Luoi Town - Mai Thi Hop was excited: "After achieving the TRIP title for women's clothing products using zèng, a local type of fabric in 2015, the co-operative was not only supported with funding from the Industrial Promotion Program to provide training for rural workers, but also able to sign various contracts to supply products to a number of businesses in and outside the province.
Starting the competition of 2017
Started in 2011 and organized periodically in odd-numbered years, the competition for TRIP aims to discover and honor valuable, quality rural industrial and handicraft products with potential to expand in production as well as their market. Through these events, businesses can learn from the opinions of the panel of judges as well as the evaluations from the customers to improve their design, introduce new products to meet the needs and tastes of the consumers and contribute to promoting rural industrial development.
The vice-director of Phong Dien District’s Division of Economics and Infrastructure - Nguyen Van Thanh informed: "After the Department of Industry and Trade launched the 2017 TRIP program, the division worked with the localities, encouraging the craft villages such as My Xuyen, Phuoc Tich pottery, Phong Chuong wine, Phong My bamboo shoots sauce... to enter their products to the District-level competition. The winning products would continue to the provincial level." Mr. Thanh said that some enterprises are actively improving and producing new products to participate in the competition.
Mr. Le Tu Dung, vice-President of the Department of Industry and Trade, stated: "The biggest benefit for businesses with their products rated as TRIP at the District, Regional and National level is the advertisement and promotion. In order for the RIPs to gain a place on the market and grow further in the long run, the Department will continue establish more conventions, strengthen the links between businesses within the same industry or craft villages, build head businesses in craft villages, and promote the recognition of craft villages and artisans as well as the restoration and development of craft villages in association with tourism."
According to the Center for Industry Promotion & Industrial Development Consulting, companies with products rated as TRIP are not only able to promote their brands but also receive funding support. Ever since 2011, 39 out of 105 businesses have been selected to receive supports in training, machinery and equipment investment, as well as product design. |
