Among the attendees were the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hue City Nguyen Van Phuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh, leaders of various departments, and a large number of residents and visitors.
In its second time hosting, the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 will feature year-long activities organized seasonally with over 170 events at national and provincial levels. The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with central agencies, will host eight programs and events, while Hue will lead 62 programs and events.

According to Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center Hoang Viet Trung, each festival season tied to the National Tourism Year carries its own unique theme, showcasing the diversity and richness of cultural colors and reflecting the resurgence of the ancient capital. Now, being a centrally-governed municipality, Hue is blending its historical legacy with new opportunities.
The Spring Festival, titled “Xuan Co Do” (Spring of the Ancient Capital) features a series of royal and traditional festivals, a unique cultural space for Tet, and springtime activities that highlight the distinctive charm of the old Hue Imperial Capital. The highlights include the first-time-ever Ancient Capital Martial Arts Festival, the Opening Ceremony of the National Tourism Year, and the 50th anniversary of Hue's liberation commemoration event…
The Summer Festival, “Kinh thanh toa sang” (Shining Citadel), will be held from April to June, with Ao Dai Art Program and Community Ao Dai Week as the highlights.
The Autumn Festival, “Hue vao Thu” (Hue in Autumn) is held from July to September, with Mid-Autumn Festival program as the spotlight.

From October to December, the Winter Festival - “Mua dong xu Hue” (Hue in Winter) with new programs, brings a vibrant and warm atmosphere to Hue's winter, offering various entertainment and recreational activities for tourists during their stay. The key events include the Closing Ceremony of the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025, the International Music Festival, and the Countdown Program to welcome the New Year 2026.
Following the announcement ceremony, the first event of the National Tourism Year was held - a theatrical reenactment of the Nguyen Dynasty’s Lunar New Year Court Ceremony at the Great Court space in front of Thai Hoa Palace. This provided Hue residents and visitors with a unique and emotional cultural heritage experience.
The series of activities and events planned for the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 are expected to boost Hue’s tourism industry, positioning it for strong development based on its legacy as the old Imperial Capital, while embracing new opportunities in a modern era.
