In attendance at the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh; Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, along with representatives of leaders from various departments, agencies, and units of Hue and Da Nang, as well as a large number of people and visitors.

Being praised as the “Thien ha de nhat hung quan” (“The world’s most majestic Frontier Post”), thanks to its stunning natural beauty and strategically important military position, Hai Van Frontier Post is an impressive military fortress and considered one of Vietnam's most magnificent frontier posts. Located at an altitude of 490 meters on the Hai Van mountain range, the relic is approximately 90 kilometers South of Hue City center and 28 kilometers North of Da Nang City center.

Carrying significant historical and cultural values, and being a renowned scenic spot, with substantial contribution to the tourism development of the two localities in particular and the Central region in general, Hai Van Frontier Post serves as a landmark connecting the two North and South Central tourism regions, this relic holds unique historical and architectural values. Therefore, on July 14, 2017, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized Hai Van Frontier Post as a National Historical and Architectural Relic.

Having experienced the ups and downs of history, Hai Van Frontier Post witnessed many fierce battles in the fight to protect the country. At the same time, this relic has also been severely affected by the harsh climate of heavy rain and scorching sun, leading to serious degradation. According to the Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, with the historical and cultural values and as a unique tourism resource with the potential for regional connectivity, Hai Van Frontier Post can become a “gold mine” if it is managed and exploited scientifically and effectively, and the authorities of the two localities together implement a “historic handshake” to revive the relic.

In this restoration project, the focus was on comprehensively restoring the architectural structures, aiming to revive the beauty and historical value of Hai Van Frontier Post.

After three years (since its groundbreaking on December 19, 2021), the project to conserve, restore, and promote the value of the Hai Van Frontier Post national relic site has now been completed. The project has a total investment of over 42 billion VND, with each locality contributing 50% from its budget.

This structure is a priceless shared asset, and a symbol of the strong solidarity and good cooperation between Hue City and Da Nang City. It also serves as a crucial foundation for both sides to continue collaborating in the preservation and promotion of the value of the relic in the future.

The two cities, along with the Road Management Department, have organized traffic on National Highway 1 through Hai Van Frontier Post; and have deployed supporting items, especially the service areas such as parking lots, standard public toilets and a space for displaying souvenirs to serve visitors...

With its unique architecture and significant military historical value, since the completion of the project to preserve, restore and renovate the relic, Hai Van Frontier Post, with its special location between two localities, has become a destination attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors to visit and admire.
