The majestic autumn atmosphere filled the hall of the Song Huong Theater |
This program was part of the 2024 Autumn Festival series, organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center and directed by Hue Royal Traditional Arts Theater. The event attracted a large audience of music lovers, artists, as well as local and international visitors.
"Autumn for you" brought to the audience autumn-themed songs by renowned composers like Trinh Cong Son, Minh Ky - Nguyen Hien, Cung Tien, Pham Trong Cau, Duong Thieu Tuoc, Tran Tien, Pham Manh Cuong, and Ngo Thuy Mien. Notably, the evening featured a performance by Tran Tien, a famed songwriter known for his free-spirited style in Vietnamese music, alongside the Du Ca band. He and the group performed autumn songs and iconic works that have defined Tran Tien's career, such as Mặt trời bé con (Little Sun), Tạm biệt chim én (Goodbye Swallows), and Mẹ tôi (My Mother) ...
Throughout the performance, the audience was immersed in a nostalgic autumn atmosphere. The songs "Hoài cảm” (Nostalgia) and "Thu vàng" (Golden Autumn) by the songwriter Cung Tien evoked tender emotions of love, with simple yet poetic lyrics, set to light, joyful, and enchanting waltz melodies. Drawing from the folk melodies of Hue, "Tiếng xưa” (Echoes of the Past) conveyed a sense of melancholy and nostalgia, as the female singers serenaded on a quiet river, sharing their soulful sentiments, as though "swaying in contemplation" and dreaming to the tune of the lute in the late night air, "as if celestial music was close by."

"Though I haven’t been to Hue many times, I love the ancient capital and its people. I love the gentle voice that I first heard through my dear friend Trinh Cong Son," Tran Tien shared during his interaction with the audience.
The third part, “Tình ta ngát hương” (Our Love in Full Bloom), featured timeless autumn songs by the late the songwriter Trinh Cong Son, such as “Nhìn những mùa thu đi” (Watching the Autumns Go By) and “Nắng thuỷ tinh” (Crystal Sunlight). Here, autumn came and went, leaving behind feelings of nostalgia and melancholy. The song “Thu ca” (Autumn Song) by Pham Manh Cuong and “Mùa thu cho em” (Autumn for You) by Ngo Thuy Mien stirred hearts with their beautiful melodies.
