Celebrating 235th anniversary of Nguyen Hue’s Coronation and dispatching army to defeat the Qing army
TTH.VN - On the morning of January 6, at the National Hero Memorial of Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue (An Tay Ward, Hue City), Hue City People's Committee held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 235th anniversary of Nguyen Hue’s Coronation and dispatching army to defeat the Qing army. The ceremony was attended by representative leaders of the city, departments, branches, unions and people in the area.

235 years ago (on November 25 in the year of the Monkey (1788)), in the land of Phu Xuan - Hue, the hero ‘in cotton clothes with a peach red color flag’, King Bac Binh - Nguyen Hue chose and leveled the top of Mount Ban to set up an altar to sacrifice to heaven and earth, officially held the coronation of ascendancy to the throne of the King, setting the reign as Quang Trung.
Immediately after that, King Quang Trung ordered the army to move to the North at high speed, defeating the Qing army and liberating Thang Long Citadel in the spring of the year of the Rooster (1789). With a fast, sudden, daring and fierce attack, King Quang Trung defeated the Qing army, maintaining the independence and sovereignty of the nation.

The incense offering ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of Nguyen Hue’s Coronation is an annual activity organized by Hue City People's Committee, to show respect and gratitude of the Party Committee, government, and people of the province and Hue City for the glorious contributions of the Quang Trung dynasty, the hero ‘in cotton clothes with a peach red color flag’.
At the same time, the ceremony arouses the pride and tradition of fighting against foreign invaders of generations of national heroes. This is also an address for educating the patriotic tradition, a historical address, and a spiritual cultural place, attracting more and more people and visitors to visit, commemorate, and contribute to the development of economy - culture - society - tourism of the province and the city.
On the evening of the same day, an art program re-enacting the coronation of King Quang Trung ascending the throne, and marching his army to defeat the Qing army was organized by Hue City People's Committee at the National Hero Memorial of Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue.
