Commemorating celebrity Dang Huy Tru - Ancestor of Vietnam’s photography

On the afternoon of June 8, at the ancestral temple of the Nguyen Dinh family (located in Phong An Commune, Phong Dien District), the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the People's Committee of Phong Dien District to organize an exhibition to introduce the life and career of celebrity Nguyen Dinh Chieu.

On the morning of March 15, the Thua Thien Hue Photography Association cooperated with the Vietnam Association of Photography Artists and the Union of Art and Culture Associations to organize a flowers and incense offering ceremony to commemorate the celebrity Dang Huy Tru, the ancestor of Vietnamese photography, at Dang shrine (Thanh Luong village, Huong Xuan ward, Huong Tra town).

On April 20 (March 16 of Lunar calendar), a large number of artists and music players of Ca Hue (traditional Hue Singing) and Hue folk songs gathered at the ancestral House of Ancient Music (at 5/127 Nguyen Trai street, Hue City) to attend the commemoration of Ca Hue ancestors.

On June 10, a book about Mr. Tran Dinh Ba, (1867-1933), a "historical-cultural great figure of Hue" was introduced to a large number of cultural researchers in Hue at the Museum of Commissioned Patterned Porcelain in the Nguyen Dynasty (at 114 Mai Thuc Loan Str., Hue City).

On March 11, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions; the Vietnamese Đặng family; and the provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations coordinated to hold a scientific conference on the cultural luminary Dang Huy Tru with the theme “Dang Huy Tru – The father of Vietnam photography.”
