Conference on Phu Xuan under the Nguyen Lords and Tay Son reign
TTH.VN - On the morning of October 17, Thua Thien Hue Provincial Association of Historical Sciences held a science conference on Phu Xuan under the Nguyen Lords and Tay Son reign. Vice Chairman Phan Thien Dinh attended and delivered a speech at the conference.

The conference on Phu Xuan under the Nguyen Lords and Tay Son reign had 25 presentations by various authors. The content of the conference focused on the new research and new findings about Phu Xuan. Among the studies presented, 15 published about Phu Xuan under the Nguyen Dynasty, from the palace, the city, the political, economic and cultural roles to some people related to Phu Xuan who have just been discovered, verified and published for the first time.
At the conference, researchers focused on analyzing the advantages and limitations of Phu Xuan land which the Nguyen and Tay Son lords chose as the capital. The researchers also provided new documents on the accurate and objective assessment of the role of Phu Xuan during the Nguyen and Tay Son times in the process of opening, establishing and protecting sovereignty, territory, sea and islands, and fighting against foreign invaders.
In addition, the researchers also focused on the appearance of Phu Xuan during the Nguyen and Tay Son times and the intangible cultural values bearing the characteristic of Phu Xuan that need to be preserved and promoted.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thien Dinh appreciated the objective and serious scientific spirit of the authors and researchers. He hoped that the delegates and scientists would discuss to verify the facts and people and objectively assess the history of this land. This will afford a proper view in planning and establishing conservation and development policies for the present and the future of Thua Thien Hue province.
