Culture and arts of ASEAN countries “converge” in Hue

TTH.VN - Landscapes, festivals, cultural activities, and beliefs of ASEAN countries through the art of photography are introduced to the Hue public through the exhibition named “Culture and arts of ASEAN countries - 2023”.

The exhibition was opened by the Department of Culture and Sports on the afternoon of December 21 at Le Ba Dang Art Space (Hue Fine Arts Museum, No.15 Le Loi St., Hue City).

The activity takes place on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations – ASEAN (1967 – 2023), and the 8th anniversary of the formation of the ASEAN Community (2015 – 2023).

With 100 works of photos, the exhibition offers viewers a “pocket-sized journey” with gorgeous landscapes, impressive cultural activities, or special beliefs, etc., of ASEAN countries. The exhibition contributes to strengthening the solidarity and friendship among ASEAN nations, at the same time promoting cultural exchange and cooperation, fostering mutual understanding and creating closer relations between Thua Thien Hue province and ASEAN countries’ ambassies.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, going through 56 years of formation, ASEAN has become an organization well-known for political cohesion and economically interconnection. Furthermore, the association has also become an important and reliable partner in international cooperation. The exhibition this time creates favorable conditions for Hue locals in particular and Vietnamese people in general to get a deeper understanding of the culture and arts of ASEAN countries.

The exhibition lasts until December 31.

On June 22nd, an impressive assembly of over 150 artifacts, curated from the esteemed collections of 29 antique collectors spanning the North, Central, and South regions of Vietnam, will be showcased at the “Antiques Gathering” exhibition held in the historic Kien Trung Palace, Hue Imperial Citadel.

Born and raised in Hai Duong commune (Hue City), Dao Nguyen Tai (born in 2002), a student of Applied Arts Department at University of Arts, Hue University, has quietly expressed his love for Hue through lines, colors, and images. Tai's passionate and creative paintings have contributed to spreading the beauty of the Ngu Mountain and Perfume River region.

The heavy rain on the night of June 9th caused a slight delay in the performance of the Double Impro dance group from Wallonia-Brussels, Belgium, at the stage of Quoc Hoc Pavilion. Nevertheless, thousands of spectators eagerly awaited the artists' appearance on stage.
