The painter Dang Mau Tuu exhibits paintings depicting his homeland Binh Dinh

TTH.VN - "Quê Nẫu" (Nẫu refers to Binh Dinh) is the theme of an art exhibition opened on December 20th by Dang Mau Tuu - a painter, at the Provincial Convention Center of Binh Dinh. The exhibition was organized by the Provincial Literature and Artistic Association of Binh Dinh.

The exhibition introduces 36 works by Dang Mau Tuu, vividly depicting his hometown, Binh Dinh. The paintings bear the imprints of memories, featuring images of old houses, smoky kitchen corners, and swaying hammocks in front of the house veranda…

This exhibition by Dang Mau Tuu is a heartfelt return to the native place, exploring emotions deeply rooted in the conscience of a devoted son always longing for his homeland. The paintings, rich in realistic colors, convey the artist’s righteousness and simplicity, bearing his profound sentiments of a bygone era.

 The exhibition is a literary and artistic event of interest to the people of Binh Dinh

Dang Mau Tuu shared, “I have a homeland, where I was born, with an old house brimming with countless memories. Although I have chosen Hue as my second homeland; after 60 years, I return like a homing pigeon through my earnest paintings. Like the endearing call of ‘nẫu’, I paint the days of yore, the childhood memories, and the stories of the people in the land of Nẫu...”

“Dang Mau Tuu not only recounts his own childhood but also revives the homeland of Binh Dinh in the childhood memories of the older generation. He paints with nostalgia, with the thoughts and recollections of many years spent away from home,” shared one of his friends while admiring the "Quê Nẫu" painting exhibition.

The exhibition will run until January 2, 2024.

Born and raised in Hai Duong commune (Hue City), Dao Nguyen Tai (born in 2002), a student of Applied Arts Department at University of Arts, Hue University, has quietly expressed his love for Hue through lines, colors, and images. Tai's passionate and creative paintings have contributed to spreading the beauty of the Ngu Mountain and Perfume River region.

VinIF Foundation suggested to continue restoring and training the art of Hue tuong mask painting

Hue Monuments Conservation Center recently had a working session with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Ha Duong, managing director of the Vingroup Innovation Foundation – VinIF, to discuss the implementation process of the project “Restoring, training and teaching Hue tuong mask painting art - a traditional art form at high risk of being lost”. The project is built by Hue Monuments Conservation Center and sponsored by the VinIF.
