Exhibition about Emperor Ham Nghi considered to be held in Hue

TTH.VN - Continuing the business trip in France, the delegation of Thua Thien Hue province led by Mr. Hoang Viet Trung - Director of the Center for Conservation of Hue Monuments had a visit to the exhibition “The Art of Exile: Emperor Ham Nghi”.

The above information was announced by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center on August 27.

This exhibition takes place at the Asian Art Museum in Nice city, more than 1,000 km on south of Paris.

The experts introduced to the delegation the exhibition about the life of Emperor Ham Nghi, with the information about the artworks, the time of creation, as well as the wish to express of Emperor Ham Nghi during his exile in Algeria... This is a collection of about 150 works from the collections of National Museums of Asia - Guimet, from Museum of Asian Art Cernuschi - Paris, from the family photographs of Capek Foundation - ANOM, from private collectors and private collections.

It is known that tens of thousands of French and international viewers have visited the exhibition about Emperor Ham Nghi in more than 4 months of the exhibition in Nice.

Following the exhibition, the delegation worked directly with Mr. Adrien Bossard - Director of the Asian Art Museum in Nice and Mrs. Amandine Dabat – a granddaughter of Emperor Ham Nghi, who is a conservation expert, together with Mrs. Olivia Pelletier - in charge of the Overseas Territories Archives Department (ANOM) in Aix-en-Provence, on cooperation in implementing cooperation activities in the near future.

The two sides will consider the possibility of organizing an exhibition about Emperor Ham Nghi, introducing books by Dr. Amadine Dabat, and holding seminar in Hue, etc. They will continue to discuss and coordinate closely in the cooperation program on heritage conservation of the two countries – Vietnam and France, especially in 2023.

A tea tray, a smoking pipe, and a set of Chinese books donated by Emperor Ham Nghi’s descendants have been officially gifted to Hue and Quang Trị.
