Hue City: 17 artisans received the title of People's Artisan and Excellent Artisan

TTH.VN - On August 28, the Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to award the title of People's Artisan and Excellent Artisan in the field of intangible cultural heritage. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Bui Thanh Ha, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In this time of awarding, there are 4 artisans received the title of People's Artisan by the President, including Hoang Thi Nhu Huy, Quach Ca (Thich Tue Tam), Cu Xan (Quynh Hoang), and Nguyen Thi Thuong (Thanh Huong). Ms. Nguyen Thi Man (stage name Minh Man), the late artisan of Hue tranditional singing, is awarded posthumously the title of People's Artisan by the President.

12 artists given the title of Exellent Artisan by the President include Ho Viet Chau, Lu Huu Vien (Vien Minh), Tran Thao, Nguyen Dinh Van, Le Van Ngo, Ho Van Hanh (Vo Duong), Nguyen Hoai Nam (Pi Hoih Cu Lai), Nguyen Tien Doi (A Rel Doi), Phan Thi Yem (Thanh Tam), Nguyen Thi Kim Vang, Ton Nu Thi Ha and Phan Ton Gia Hien.

The artisans who are awarded the title this time are those who have been holding and teaching intangible cultural forms such as folk performing arts, folk knowledge, social practices and beliefs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho expressed his wish that the artisans, with their enthusiasm and passion in profession will continue to contribute their talents and intellect to Hue culture, to the work of building and constructing the homeland; contribute to making the cultural life and cultural and artistic career of the province increasingly developing. At the same time, the Chairman also wanted the artisans to preserve and teach the intangible culture forms they hold for the community, especially the younger generation.

On the morning of March 7, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting and awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of Thua Thien Hue Province" to Ms. Andrea Teufel, Chief Representative of the German Association for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage; and Ms. Kazuyo Watanabe, Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Children’s Care League.
