Lightening the Flagpole
TTH.VN - On the evening of February 12, Vietnam Travel and Marketing Transports Joint-stock Company (Vietravel) and Hue Monuments Conservation Center coordinated to organize the inauguration ceremony of the Flagpole-Hue Imperial City art lighting work.
The sparkling Flagpole of Hue
The Flagpole is located in the middle of the southern side of Hue Imperial City and built by the Nguyen Dynasty in 1807. The Flagpole has two parts, including a three-level flag platform at 17.5 metres tall and a 37 metre high flagpole.

With the coordination of these two units, the Flagpole is lightened by 1,000 decorative led lights, creating the unique impression for Hue at night. This is an event of the "Hue - Brightening and Living" project (“Huế - Sáng và Sống”), invested by Vietravel and implemented with the coordination of Thua Thien Hue People's Committee.

The lighting of the Flagpole is meant not only to honor and preserve the historical values of a symbolic construction of Hue culture, but also contribute to creating more attractions for the ancient capital at night and creating the impression of the Meridian Gate square at night, serving visitors to the Citadel.
