The Author Le Vu Truong Giang won Vietnam Writers Association's Young Author Award

TTH.VN - The Vietnam Writers Association has just announced the 2022 Literary Prize for 5 authors and the Young Author Award for 3 authors. Le Vu Truong Giang was honored to win the Young Author Award in 2022 in the prose category with the book "Bac mau ao ngu" (Faded royal costumes).

The collection of stories "Bac mau ao ngu" consists of 13 short stories and is nearly 250 pages thick, published by Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House. This is a collection of short stories associated with history, spanning a wide range of time and space, bringing sorrowful feelings about the war, and the human condition...

The geography of the book stretches across famous landmarks of Central Vietnam: from Ai Tu, Khe Sanh (Quang Tri), Son My (Quang Ngai), to Go Boi (Binh Dinh), extending to Hong Kong, El Biar village of Algeria, New York City (USA). Of course, there are also pages written about Hue. Through this collection of short stories, Le Vu Truong Giang has traced the ruins of historical dynasties and of the lands that have passed.

Le Vu Truong Giang was born in 1988, in Thuy Chau, Huong Thuy town. Currently, he has a Ph.D. and is a lecturer at the Faculty of History, University of Sciences, Hue University. He has published 7 collections of short stories, proses, and essays, such as: Ngu giua trung son (Sleeping in the midst of the mountains), Di nhu la o lai (Leaving as if staying), No tan bien nien ky (Chronicles of rises and falls), Khuc phong cam tren cat (The organ tune on the sand), Can cuoc xu mua (The identity of the rainy land) and Bac mau ao ngu (Faded royal costumes).
