100 outstanding poor students overcoming difficulties awarded scholarships

TTH.VN - On July 23, the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs coordinated with organizations, enterprises and benefactors to organize the "Scholarship awarding ceremony for outstanding poor students overcoming difficulties in 2022".

This is the 9th year in a row that the scholarship awarding ceremony for outstanding poor students overcoming difficulties of the province is held, aiming to encourage the students who have made great efforts to overcome difficulties.

On this occasion, there were 100 outstanding students overcoming difficulties, who are under 16 years old, the children of poor and near-poor households, as well as households in difficulties; orphans and children in difficult circumstances in the whole province. They were honored to receive the scholarships connected by the Center for Social Work and the Children Protection Fund, the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

Each student received a scholarship and gift worth 4 million VND each, including 3 million VND in cash, as well as backpacks, souvenir watches, learning tools, and many other gifts. In addition, the students were also invited to have lunch at Saigon Morin Hue hotel, and go to the cinema at CineStar Hue. The total funding for this activity is nearly 500 million VND. The funding supporting the scholarships comes from the sponsorship of the Smart Green Company, Saigon Morin Hue Company Limited, EMG Joint Stock Company, and a numerous other benefactors.

Ms. Phan Minh Nguyet, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that the beneficent scholarships and gifts from the donors would not only help the children physically, but also provide them a source of spiritual encouragement; giving them the strength, and creating the confidence in life, thereby helping them to strive to rise up, and firmly keep going on their learning path in the following years.
