An electric vehicle made by the College of Hue’s students handed over

TTH.VN - An electric vehicle powered by solar energy, designed and manufactured by students from the College of Hue, was handed over to Hue Monuments Conservation Center. The handover ceremony took place on the morning of August 7 at Co Ha Garden, Hue Imperial Citadel.

 Representatives from the College of Hue handed over the electric vehicle powered by solar energy to Hue Monuments Conservation Center

According to Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, the solar-powered electric vehicle is the first product in a series of cooperation activities between Hue Monuments Conservation Center and the College of Hue on applying green technology and renewable energy to daily life, helping to reduce emissions. This event marks a significant milestone in the cooperative relationship between the College of Hue and Hue Monuments Conservation Center, opening up many new cooperation opportunities in the future to jointly develop and protect a sustainable green environment.

The electric vehicle is powered by a 48V - 800W electric motor, and supplied by 4 batteries, which can fully recharge itself in approximately 8 hours using 4 solar panels, with a capacity of 50W each. Additionally, if using a household power source, the vehicle can be fully charged in about 4 hours. With a design based on a traditional garbage collection vehicle, this vehicle promises to enhance the efficiency of environmental sanitation and the transportation of goods under 150kg at the relic sites of Hue Ancient Capital.

Mr. Hoang Bao Hung, Rector of the College of Hue, stated that: “This product is the result of the creative efforts of students majoring in Automotive Technology, under the guidance of the College’s lecturers. The research and development process not only demonstrates the students' creativity, but also affirms the pioneering role of the College of Hue in promoting the application of green technology in daily life.”

During the usage process, there may arise requests for improvements so as to be more suitable to the actual situation. The College will collect feedback from Hue Monuments Conservation Center to continue researching and improving the product in order to better meet practical needs.

“Currently, the College of Hue has two products that students are researching and developing, which are a solar-powered phone charging station and a smart trash can. After completing these two products, we will also hand over them to Hue Monuments Conservation Center for use, contributing to protecting the environment effectively and sustainably,” said Mr. Hung.

After receiving and test-driving the electric vehicle, it will initially be used by Hue Monuments Conservation Center to transport plants, goods, and collect garbage, etc. at relic sites.
