On November 21, the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs organized a seminar on “Enhancing the quality of protection and healthcare for people with meritorious services to the revolution, the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and other social assistance beneficiaries within the labor, war invalids, and social affairs sector”.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs, stated that Thua Thien Hue is one of the localities that has promptly issued a plan to implement the Program for Enhancing the Quality of Protection and Healthcare for people with meritorious services to the revolution, the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and other social assistance beneficiaries for the period of 2021-2030 in the provincial area to carry out the Program of the Central Government.
At the seminar, the sector expressed the desire to receive feedback, shares, and ideas on exchanging experiences related to supporting rehabilitation and healthcare in the community and at social assistance facilities, issuing health insurance cards, vocational training, and giving job opportunities for people with disabilities and vulnerable groups. Thence, calling the entire political and social system to join hands in enhancing the protection and care of vulnerable individuals.
In the framework of the seminar, some units and localities focused on discussing and contributing ideas, proposing solutions to improve the quality of protection and healthcare for people with meritorious services to the revolution, the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and other social assistance beneficiaries in the provincial area. They also suggested replicating successful models for serving vulnerable groups, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of the implementation of the 1942 Program in the provincial area.

Support for training healthcare workers, orthopedics, and rehabilitation for social-labor healthcare facilities is an essential content of the 1942 Program. At the seminar, medical facilities in the area shared their experiences regarding training healthcare personnel for social-labor healthcare facilities, as well as implementing nursing, orthopedic, and rehabilitation services for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities in the province. Additionally, representatives from some social assistance centers shared the current situation and proposed solutions to improve the quality of care for people with mental disabilities, as well as those with meritorious services to the revolution, children, people with disabilities, and the elderly, etc.
