Executive Board of Vietnam Association for the Study of Liver Diseases - the Central-Highlands region chapter was elected
TTH.VN - On the afternoon of January 4, at Hue Central Hospital, the Executive Board of Vietnam Association for the Study of Liver Diseases held a ceremony to present its Central - Central Highlands region Executive Board.
The Executive Committee of Vietnam Association for the Study of Liver Diseases in the term of 2018-2023 consisted of 73 members. Major General, Prof. Dr. Le Trung Hai, former Deputy Director of Military Medical Department and former Deputy Director of 103 Military Hospital was elected as the President of the association. Prof. Dr. Pham Nhu Hiep - Director of Hue Central Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Hop and Assoc. Prof. Trinh Thi Ngoc were elected as Vice Presidents.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General, Prof. Dr. Le Trung Hai, President of the Vietnam Association for the Study of Liver Diseases informed that in 2017, liver cancer ranked the third (after the lung cancer and breast cancer) in Vietnam. This challenge required all members of the Association to strengthen solidarity, cooperate intensively, and share knowledge and experiences to help people check the hepatitis virus in the community as well as building the Association to become a prestigious social and professional organization, contributing positively to the development of the country’s medicine, and the care and protection of people's health.

At the ceremony, members the Executive Board of Vietnam Association for the Study of Liver Diseases - the Central - Central Highlands region chapter discussed their working plan for the term of 2018-2023. Vietnam Association for the Study of Liver Diseases also strengthens the role of professional orientation for liver-specialized doctors by developing guidelines on diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer, hepatitis, cirrhosis, gall and pancreas diseases; organizing specialized symposiums; establishing Vietnam Liver-Gall-Pancreas Surgery Chapter with a participation of young surgeons contributing to improving the quality of surgical treatment of liver, gall and pancreas diseases; developing the Fund for Hepatitis Prevention and Liver Transplant...
